Budget Decorating...

If you are like most of Americans these days, you are cutting back on luxury items like I am. One thing I just love to have in the home is fresh flowers and that can become costly over time.

Look in the garden and see what you can cut and bring indoors instead of purchasing flowers at the store. I wish my peonies and lily's would bloom all year but they don't unfortunately. My rose bushes are not very mature and I hate to cut them off the vines and leaving the vines sparse. My geraniums in the pot I don't like to cut either. The wave petunias are plentiful as well as verbena. They last for awhile too when cut and placed in a vase. The hosta flowers will start to die off soon so I decided to cut them back and use them as well. They don't last as long as the petunia or verbena, but add a nice touch for a few days.

Even if you don't have a lush flower garden , there is always something you can cut that will look nice for your home and save you money if you are a fresh flower person like myself.

Still enjoying the summer and back to the beach this weekend, yeah!

Cheers,

T
