Staging Photo Series- Part 2

Sun room "before"

Sun room "after"

We were really happy with the way this room turned out. We tried to find pieces that were a little bit unexpected for a sun/sitting room. We wanted to stay away from the traditional rattan furniture and decided to use upholstered furniture for comfort and style.

Staging Photo Series - Part 1

Foyer "before"

Foyer "after" - This is one of our favorite pieces. We purchased the vase from HomeGoods and purchased the glass top from Pier One. We created a dramatic entry table for less than $200.

Living room "before"

Living room "after"
The couches and side table's are the homeowners. We purchased all other items from Consignment Shops, HomeGoods and Pier One.

I partnered on this project with another Stager, Paula Snow. The 9200 square feet home was completely empty and had to be decorated on a limited budget. We were definitely challenged to come up with inexpensive decorating ideas to fill the space. This was truly a "design-on-a-dime" staging job. We had so much fun on this project and are very pleased with the end results.

Can't wait for our next project Paula ;-)

Enjoy the pictures,

Beat the Winter Blues!

I would like to share a few of my favorite tips to help you "Beat the Winter Blues"

*Rearrange accent pieces. It's easy to get bored with your home when you're used to looking at the same thing in the same place month after month. January is the perfect time to go shopping from within your home to add a little interest to a room that's lost its luster. Switch out mirrors and artwork from different rooms for a "fresh new look to a room"

*Switch your winter holiday candle scents with fragrances that will remind you of spring, the season of rebirth. Choose floral favorites or an ocean/rain aroma.

*Purchase some herbs to plant in indoor pots or plant a favorite spring bulb. Set the plants on a windowsill or near a window. The herbs will provide natural fragrances and a healthy addition to meals. When late spring arrives, take the herbs outside!

*Introduce a new accent color with blankets and throws and drape over your couches and chairs to add new patterns to a room and to have on hand during cold nights.

*Adding fresh inexpensive flowers to any room in the home is one of my favorite tricks to add instant "life" to a room. Before you know it, you'll be hanging red hearts and cupids around the house!

Happy 2010! ~ T
