Have a fabulous Memorial Day weekend!

Hope you and your family have great plans for the long weekend. We are headed to the beach to visit the Grandparents.

I am so excited for this visit. Not only is my husbands immediate family coming, my sister is coming up from North Carolina to their beach house as well, YEAH!

The weather in Delaware is going to be sunny and high 70's low 80"s. Hope your weather is warm where ever you are. There is nothing better than being on the beach with the warm sun on your body and a drink in your hand :)

Don't forget to honor the Men and Women this weekend who fight for us each and everyday so we can live in freedom and happiness. God Bless America!

Cheers,

T

My mini debut....

I'm in the middle...(once again Yes, I need a new camera)

Several weeks ago I was asked to be part of a panel for the Chamber of Commerce to speak about Staging. The Clarksburg Chamber of Commerce sponsored a homeowners forum to give some advice to people interested in buying or selling a home. I was part of a panel of three and I specifically talked about how to properly "Stage" your home.

Although I felt very comfortable on my knowledge on Staging, I didn't feel comfortable about speaking in front of a large audience.

Many, many years ago (ok I am giving away my age ;) public speaking was part of my job. I used to be an Account Executive for a large health insurance company and I managed corporate health care accounts. To say I was a little rusty would be an understatement. However, I was looking forward to the challenge to break out of my "stay at home Mommy" mode.

During my long walks in the morning I would leave my IPod at home (I was getting ready to type walkman, can you believe that? talking about old) and practice my presentation as I walked. I am sure people who noticed me thought I was one of those crazy people who talked to themselves. I would talk out loud and absolutely got into my zone with the hands flying back and forth as I went through my presentation aloud. I need to work on the hand thing, I picked that up from my husband who is a New Yorker and it is very evident in my pictures that I use my hands when I explain something :)

By the time Saturday came around, I was so ready and confident for my debut. Our Community State Sen. Robert J. Garagiola was going to be there and I imagined a ton of people were going to be there as well given our current housing issues, it was sure to big a big hit. NOT. The papers read "Few attend Clarksburg forum". Lets just say it was less than 10 shall we. Well folks, it was a mini debut I guess and honestly, I was thrilled to be a part of it. Now I am one step closer to the next big opportunity.

Until next time,

T
